CWN

On Tuesday, August 7th, 2001, a website launched through GeoCities titled
FTCWF – For The Canadian Wrestling Fan.

WWF WrestleMania X8 was right around the corner and there wasn’t a great deal of information available on the internet for Canadian wrestling fans even though the biggest wrestling event of the year was coming to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. FTCWF began recapping WWF television events as well as keeping fans updated on autograph sessions, television appearances and much more here in Canada.

FTCWF eventually grew into FTCWF.ca and with that the website began covering the WWE, TNA Wrestling, Ring of Honor, Mixed Martial Arts as well as the Canadian Independent Wrestling scene. Monthly columns were generated and ’15 Questions with….’ could be seen on FTCWF.ca featuring Canada’s own Shawn Spears, Scott D’Amore, Traci Brooks, Bobby Roode, Greg Oliver and many more.

After 6 years of keeping Canadian wrestling fans up to date on all the latest happenings, FTCWF.ca went on hiatus in early 2007 and the website was officially retired by the end of the year.

With that being said…

CWN: Canadian Wrestling Network launched on Sunday, January 18th, 2009 focusing on Professional & Independent Wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts here in Canada while taking a look at those Canadians making their mark across the world.

Chris Maloney, alongside contributors Shawn Bates and Ed Simon, created the website as a way to keep fans up to date with the latest news, results, upcoming events, columns and more.

Now simply known as CWN, we aggregate the latest news, upcoming events, results, interviews, podcasts and the latest in social media while providing our own exclusive content and much more.

From Coast to Coast… We’ve got it covered!
